We asked people who have hired bikes from us what they thought...

Very good value

speech marksWe had a great time even though there were six adults and two very young children, we were very well catered for and it was very good value. The adults all took VTTs and we hired the little trailer for the youngest ones. They absolutely loved it, as did we. The Jacksons, London

We (two accountants from Middlesborough) hired two top quality carbon road bikes for three days. We rode up and down the Marie Blanque and plenty of other Tour de France favourites and although our legs let us down a few times the bikes certainly didn't! First class bikes and a beautiful area to cycle in. We'll be back! James and Peter, Middlesborough

bike This was our first time in this part of France and what better way to see the countryside than from the saddle of a bike? This area is outstandingly beautiful and although quite hilly, there's nothing too difficult, especially if you follow one of the routes given to you by David the owner. He sorted out the most appropriate circuits and printed us a map each to take with us. It couldn't have been easier. We'll definitley be back to explore more of the Béarn. Sally and Andrew, Canada

Great bikes

The Béarn countryside is gorgeous and is just the place for a cyclist. The bikes that we hired were in extremely good condition, virtually new and in perfect working order. This made it very easy to tackle the steepest of hills and the flattest, fastest roads as the gears were perfectly set up. The kids are now cycling converts! Thanks for a great week. The Mills family, Suffolk

Repairs too

bike Whilst cycling on the 'Chemin de St Jacques de Compostelle' pilgrim route from Germany, my bike somehow managed to break five spokes. Luckily we were coming into Navarrenx and were told of a bike shop here. Even though it was very early, David took the bike in while we went off and had some breakfast. About an hour later they were all fixed and the wheel was true again. We couldn't believe our luck! Thank you David for a great service! Inga and Petr, Hamburg

Updates

This year the Daily Telegraph printed a special feature about Aquitaine in which we get a mention...

But it's not just Béarn's waterways that are ripe for carbon-zero exploration: 10 years ago, British couple David and Lindy Gander set up a bike rental shop in the fortified town of Navarrenx. Cycling around the quiet lanes is a lovely way of exploring the villages and surrounding countryside;

The 'Wheezing Geezers' ride again!

We (that's me, Barry and Shaun) are cycling across the bottom of France, from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea in September. We're doing it for a good cause too. Have a look here.

New T-shirts

We have some new t-shirts designed for the new season. As we're moving to the medieval 'Poudriere' we thought an appropriate woodcut theme would be great for our new shirts. Have a look on our Merchandise page

We're moving!

But not very far... Our new premises will be the medieval gunpowder store called 'La Poudriére' just 200 metres from our old shop in the square. More details will follow soon.

Finished!

Well, we have completed our cycle ride and are back home (see below). If you'd like to read about where we went and what we did, have a look here

Help!

Two of us are cycling from Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk to here in Navarrenx SW France in september. If you'd like to see where we're going or even donate some money to charity, have a look here
