We will be leaving Bury St Edmunds on the 2nd of september very early in the morning to avoid the blazing Suffolk sun (ha!) taking the nearest road south towards the English South Coast and the Port of Portsmouth. This should take us approximately 3 days if we travel at an average of 15 mph. From Portsmouth we will take the overnight ferry to St Malo, arriving there, bright-eyed and bushy tailed at early a.m. Remembering to cycle on the right (that's easy for me, Shaun will have to hold my hand), we will head for Mauron (aptly named), 100 kilometres (see, kilometres, not miles) away.

Then, spacing out our potential accommodation every 100 kilometres we intend to get to Navarrenx about a week later.
